Compulsive shoe buy is apparently a real thing. It’s a serious issue that remains unaffected by the recent economic meltdown. According to a survey conducted by Harpers Bazaar, 1 in 10 women stated she spent more than £1,000 on shoes in the past year and 8% of women own more than 100 pairs of shoes.
Tara from NewYork has boasts and impressive and lavish collection of 110 pairs of shoes in her wardrobe. She claims she has been obsessed with collecting shoes since she was a little girl. Her shoe collection varies from Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Gucci and Prada. It’s all worth $60,000. She has a special room dedicated in her house to showcase her huge collection. Tara is an attorney by occupation and believes her job provides more freedom with how she can dress.

Tara quoted:
I have always loved fashion and shoes, I remember the moment I got my very first pair of heels when I was in high school, it was so special. ‘Shoes are my one true love because they are forever, whereas with clothes your weight can go up and down and affect what clothes you can wear.
But once you reach a certain age, your shoe size doesn’t change and you can keep shoes forever because you know you aren’t ever going to outgrow them.
Her shoe obsession accelerated during a trip to Chicago where she purchased her first pair of Manolo Blahnik heels. Since then her passion for collection shoes has only become stronger.

Christian Louboutin is Tara’s favorite designer and she owns 40 pairs of the iconic red soles. She loves the shopping experience at the Louboutin boutique. The service, the atmosphere, and the shoes display makes you feel great while shopping.
‘The red sole is so sexy, there is nothing like it. They make an outfit and add another dimension to whatever you’re wearing, that is just the effect the shoes have. They are also made incredibly well and I love their unique designs and colors.

‘The most expensive pair of shoes that I have bought is a pair of Louboutin boots. They cost around $1,600.
Her favorite shoes are an army style boots with a thick heel and fur inside them.
Tara considers durability and longevity as an important factor while shopping for branded shoes. 95% of her shoe collection includes heels as they give a polished and sophisticated look.
She is on good terms with sales associates who inform her about new arrivals and what is trending. It helps her keep up to date on new collections.
She purchases a new pair every month. Her collection is an investment, and she has worn almost all of the pairs of shoes that she owns. There are only a couple of pairs that she hasn’t worn yet.

With the passing time, her collection is only growing bigger and there is no stopping her. It’s true when they said if you got it, flaunt it.
