Yes, you read that correctly – with just his feet!

Careless driver Patrick Hill was filmed wearing just his underpants as he sped down a busy roadway in a 40-tonne truck, controlling the steering wheel with only his feet.

The Australian was caught on camera by his British girlfriend Hayley Waite, who was sat in the passenger seat and shared a recording of the bizarre joyride on social media application Snapchat.

Openly amused by her partner’s exploits, twenty-six-year-old Waite, from York, posted a video with the carefree caption “I have such a talented boyfriend” alongside a ‘crying with laughter’ emoji image.

Waite, who is said to be travelling in Australia, can be heard laughing uncontrollably as her partner risks his and her safety by speeding down a motorway in a large 18 wheeler haulage truck.

Shockingly, Hill is even seen to lift his foot from the steering wheel in order to sound the truck’s horn, briefly controlling the vehicle with just his left foot.

However, an unnamed friend has not seen the funny side, slamming Waite as ‘juvenile’ and the footage as ‘shocking’. 

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “It’s such a stupid thing to do and they’re lucky they weren’t caught by the police, otherwise they would have been in serious trouble.

“I know she’s travelling around Australia and I think she met this man out there and got with him.”

Clearly unamused, her friend went on to voice her disappointment at the irresponsible behaviour displayed by Waite and Hill, branding the incident as potentially tragic.   

“A few years ago I when I was younger I might have found that sort of thing funny but not now, not now I’ve grown up.

“She’s not a kid, she knows right from wrong and this is clearly wrong – especially in recent times with tragic incidents involving big vehicles.

Potential Devastation

In a message to her estranged friend, the unnamed acquaintance called for her friend to consider other road incidents linked to large vehicles.

“She must see the news and notice when people are messing about behind the wheel and end up killing people. You can see from recent incidents the sort of devastation vehicles like that can do.

“This could have ended in disaster, not just for them but for other people, they haven’t thought about the consequences at all and seem to think it’s just a big joke.”
